Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Tally Ho!

My 1/12 scale tinplate car arrived today! Very fast delivery I only ordered it on Friday!! My dolls also arrived to today was a good day!!

Even if I say so myself they look flipping brilliant! Apart they are great, but together they just look fantastic! I am so chuffed it really adds a bit of fun to the outside of the village!!

They are parked a bit close to that fence lol!

I made a little strap from a scrap of leather to hold the picnic basket on!

Now they need names!! The car is an MG so how about Maurice and Geraldine?

I love this pic without the flash it looks like they are enjoying the last of the days sunshine!

The vintage kitchen market stall, The WI Xmas party and a new car!

Well another week has past and I can't believe this time next week my family will be enroute! Only 600 hundred miles for them to travel so they will leave Thursday evening and arrive sometime on Friday. We are all so excited we can't wait!

They haven't seen the village since May and so much has changed....it changes even from week to week, so after 7 months you can imagine how many new things there are to see! I have been doing all those odd little jobs, an odd bulb here and there, missing signs etc to make sure the village is at its absolute best!

I finally managed to get the WI Christmas party all finished. It too me ages to get them all in the right pose lol!

They have a wonderful spread thanks the lovely Celia from Facebook.

Not everyone has the energy for the dancing, some prefer to just listen to the entertainment.

Vera and Walter are this years guest act!

Notice the picture on the wall?? Bethany did that for me 2 years ago and it was all my dolls at the time! Now there over 100 so I don't think there's much chance of and updated one lol

Florence got stuck with making the tea although there is also sherry for the naughtier ones!

I knew I wasn't going to have time to finish the Post Office, so the builders are in to repaint over Christmas!

I had one tiny little space left on the shelf which wasn't really big enough for a proper shop. I spotted this gorgeous little market stall on Ebay and had to have it! I remember seeing it in an issue of The Dolls House magazine (No 182) and loving it at the time. I vowed to recreate it one day and I can't believe I now own the original!

It came with all the accessories and all I have done is added the light and Maddie!

She has sold the B & B to Basil and Sybil and bought the stall instead. Its much more her kind of thing and she's loving it! So is Beans she likes to be outside in the fresh air!

I love the little tea cosies and oven gloves!

There are little bundles of tea towels and many other things!

The recipe box even has little cards inside.

I adore this little felt bag made to look like a house!

Its now in place with the rest of market. Its so pretty I just love it!

A friend on Facebook posted a pic of this 1/12th scale car she had bought. It looked so good outside her dolls house shop I just couldn't resist getting one for the village! I imagined it with a couple of dolls sitting inside and a picnic basket on the back!

An email to Detta and she knew exactly what was needed. Aren't they just fab I can't wait for them and the car to arrive!

I have a whole lot of new ideas for the outside of the village. My good friend Irene shared a link of an amazing dolls house village and it really had some wonderful details like roads etc. Its inspired me to think about the outside as well as the inside and especially now there's no more room for more houses it still gives me lots to think about and plan. Next on the list is a traffic warden and a lollipop lady!!!

Here's the link to the other village its def worth a look!!

BARTON VILLAGE

Afternoon tea, the holiday let attic, filling up Lobster...and more!!

Been a busy week getting ready for my family coming up for Christmas so not quite as much mini time! I am fairly organised presents all done and wrapped and decorations all up so just the food to do! I can't believe its only 2 weeks before they will all be here and I can't wait!

I have had a little play around with Sea Shanty cottage. I decided I really didn't want to waste a whole floor on just the bathroom theres only so many things you can put in! I thought it would be nice to split the room into 2 halves and have a little bathroom with an extra little bedroom. It worked out really well. Still needs lots of things but I am liking it so far!

The bath was stolen from the witches house as I just thought it fitted nicely in here and was prob far too nice for witches anyway!

I went with a modern style sink and I got a lovely little unit to put it on and the shell mirror was the one I made for the old holiday let.

I was going to put a dividing wall but because of a low beam across the back it was going to be really fiddly so just used this screen that's been sitting broken in my draw for months instead! I fixed and painted it then distressed it a little and it does just the job diving the 2 little rooms.

The little bed was a Sylvanian brass one like the ones I have in the rest home. Its just a nice size for a childs bed without over powering the space. I have sprayed this one white to make it look a bit more modern.

The lovely patchwork quilt is of course one od Debs stolen from the day care centres bed!

I also bought  gorgeous little sofa from a lady who sells on Facebook. Its quite fabulous such high quality but with a really good price tag! I thought it would be pretty along with my gorgeous bed.

Still not much else in this room I would say I am pacing myself lol but really I just can't find the right things I like for it!

Its starting to fill up nicely now!

Sybil has a few new things in her office. A filing cabinet and some files for all those ladies and a nice spot of lunch made by the lovely Celia also on Facebook!

Another purchase I couldn't resist lol! I saw this tea trolley on Ebay and just had to have it for my biddies. The seller very kindly did a buy it now for me for which I was pleased, I hate waiting for auctions! What a lovely seller she (Angela)  turned out to be! She also sent me the wood burner for free as it had a broken leg and also some extra cakes and goodies. Stop by her Ebay shop for some of her lovely things! She doesn't have anything for sale at the mo but pop back!

Ebay shop

I adore the trolley its been so nicely done and came with every you see on it!

The wood burner all fixed and repainted black.

My home is filling up nicely now its one of my favourite projects I just love it!

I had a little swap about outside Beach cottage as the village hall is next door and the door kept catching on the pergola. As beach is face on I swapped the awning for the pergola which solved the problem!

I have been after a lava lamp for Babs for as long as I can remember! I finally won one on Ebay last week and I love it, its so much fun and perfect for my shop!

I finally got round to moving the day care centre and nursery shop into Lobster!

They work much better in this building!

The nursery shop was one of my first shops and the pram is still one of my favourite minis!

Finally my real life tree next to the Manor! So much easier than last year when Fairbanks was there!!
