Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Broomstick cottage No 4!! this one is def 'THE ONE'

I have had 4 attempts at finding the right house to be my Broomstick cottage the 1st was Crappot which was too cute the 2nd Blackberry was too posh the 3rd the fairytale one was ok but couldn't fit anything in it so finally I came across this one on Ebay and its totally perfect! It arrived safely yesterday thanks to the nice lady who packed it all up for me she had done a great job but the couriers as usual hadn't exactly been careful with it so the garden had taken a bit of a battering but the house was intact apart from the porch which has already been fixed! It had so many things inside I was in my element unpacking it all I just love all the little things and there were some really wonderful things in it. I have been playing around with it all day lol firstly added a nice orange bulb to light the fire then started putting all the bits in. I have used more or less everything that came with apart from a couple of things I already had that I really wanted to use. It looks great sat with the other houses at 1st glance you don't notice its different til you look a bit closer!

It looks brilliant I just Love it! As you can see the witches supply shop is already open for business and doing a roaring trade. On the left is the spell of the day, along with a selection of hats, brooms, wands, fingers won't even ask where they are from! and any spell you need can be made up on the spot! The villagers know theres something a little bit strange about the rundown house at the end of the village but no one has ever dared try to and find out!!

The outside is my next job need to fix the yard and redo the ivy to decorate the house :-)

Poorly Bethany, Angelas new house and Mr and Mrs Clause

Well its been a funny half term Bethany has not had a good one by any means! she was down at her Dads for a week and had Tonsilitus and was not well at all but even after coming home on Tuesday she was not getting any better so we went back to the doctors who said yes she had Tonsilitus but also a rotten cold coupled with Glandular Fever which is what was making her so unwell. She hasn't moved off the sofa for days and has no energy poor thing what a rubbish holiday shes had! Hoping she will feel better soon but it could be a while as Glandular fever can take a long time to recover from!!

Did manage to fit a trip to the Dolls house shop in the day we picked her up from the airport as usual spent way to much but won't be back up til Easter now as the caravan has been all packed up til next year and it will be a long winter so needed lots of projects to keep me going so got some nice fabrics, wood and lots of Xmas things to do my Fete scene.  Also got some nice lights including a great hurricane style lamp perfect for the beach hut! Sadly Santa is already redundant as I have just bought one from the lady who makes all my other dolls he was just too nice with Mrs Clause and will make my Christmas scene complete. I haven't forgotten my granny whos on hold ( still sorry Robin!!!!!!!) but feel I really have to get the Christmassy things 1st as it will be here and gone before we know it but I will def get her one day!!

I had a wonderful parcel of goodies from my good friend Deb which had lots of lovely things for Angela's cottage including the sofa a wall hanging so she has now fully moved in! Out of all my cottages this one the one I had bonded with the least for some reason think it just never really the right purpose but now I love it! its so homely and cosy and it def feels just right!

Wonderful Witches cottage!

I wasn't going to post my news just yet hate to tempt fate before they have actually arrived I am always terrified something will go wrong but I am just so excited I had to share it!!! As you all know I have been after the perfect witches cottage for a while and 4 attempts later I have finally found the ONE!!! its just perfect and will match just great with all my other cottages which this morning I found out why! What I love about it is it looks just like one of Julies just dirtied up and witchified which I could never bear to do with one of hers! This morning I laughed when I read an email from Julie saying she saw I had won it and did I realise it was orginally one of hers! now I know why I was attracted to it! I was a nervous wreck when I bid last night sweaty palms racing heartbeat the works I wanted to win it so much!  I cannot tell you how excited I am! all the lovely things inside also come with it including a few witches by the same seller who made my others so my idea at the moment is to have a spell shop downstairs so I can make use of them all! Off to the caravan now for a couple of days which will give the seller time to pack it all up I am so grateful she agreed to let me have it couriered I really do appreciate all the extra work involved but it could not be going to a better home it will be very well loved!!!! :-)

Sweeties and flower fairies

Yesterday I got a couple of pretty wooden flower fairy keyrings from a charity shop that were 50p for the 2 and thought they would make lovely pictures to go with the flower fairy plate rack I have in Seaview and they look the perfect size.

I have also bought a few more trays of sweets and chocolates from another lovely Ebay seller the postage is always £1 whatever you order and the items are always nice I have cakes in the cafe and bridal shop and the sweets are just fab. she made the coconut ice and mint nougat for me to fill up the counter and they are just perfect! Printed off a few clipart images just to finish them off and now they are nice and full :-)

Bob and Roses Garden

Had a go at redoing Bob and Roses garden yesterday as I had to move the shed to leave the scullery door free and I had to change the fencing layout around. Made the front fence sit back with a gate and used some of the vinyl tile to match in the path at the front it actually looks better in the flesh as the camera makes it look a very colour colour but close up its not bad! Now Bob can sort his nets in peace without having to be moved everytime I open the door of the house!

Quayside village photos!

After moving the entire village around I don't know how many times I finally have how I think it looks best!!

Fishermans Rest home to Bob and Rose is now in the outskirts of the village its actually much better there as I can access it a lot easier! I have moved the shed to what will be the lower garden and just need to make a new garden fence for the decked area leading from the scullery. Crabpot cottage is now next door to Bob and Rose and after staying in the village waiting for a property to become empty Angela has just moved in and is thrilled with her new home!

Now the town centre has all the shops and restaurant together and the vintage clothing store has moved into Barnacle cottage they are just waiting for the signwriters to visit which hopefully they will soon as they have 2 weeks off! The village green will now be a nice little area to change along with the seasons for now making the most of the last burst of summer is a picnic setting which which soon become a Christmas one and can also be a jumble sale, a village fete and dog show lots of ideas for that! nice to have something that can be played around with Blackberry is now in place on the end that was the one that was driving me mad lol I had it in the corner and it was just not right looked too small and didn't show off the conservatory so I wanted it on the end and by putting if where Seaview was it shows it off perfectly and looks lovely all lit up as you walk in and by having Seaview leading onto the village green it gives a much better view and access into the corner!

Hope you like how I have laid it out have taken a full shot of the room so you can see the whole village in one go it does look rather fab but as you can see there really is no more room!!!!
