Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Babs Boutique vintage clothing store and hello Debbie and Lawrence

Been playing around with the vintage clothing shop this week as it was looking a little bare after the rush on winter coats! I made the long rail and painted the round rail silver to make it look a bit more real. Added a few wall decorations and of course the lovely beaded curtain I got the other day plus a few pairs of platform Barbie shoes as they looks just right although I may customise a few of them!  the silver ones were bright pink yesterday! Babs is busy on the stall at the Christmas fayre at the mo so Hubby John is watching the shop for now! :-)

Also got a couple of new additions to the village as I decided it was all set up as a holiday town but with no visitors! so meet Debbie and lawrence who arrived naked yesterday but have been all kitted out in good old Bratz clothes although lawrence wasn't quite so easy as the boys ones are far too big so luckily I had a lovely jumper handmade by my good friend Deb who sends me lots of lovely things so now she has been immortalised in the village and Lawrence just reminds me so much of a chap I used to work with and every time I look at him I see him lol They were an Ebay bargain I couldn't resist they had such happy smiley faces!

Quaysides new business opens! Luigis Italian Bistro

As you probably remember a little while back I asked the wonderful Julie Bennett to make me a house for my witches but when it came it was far too nice to be all muckied up and just knew I would not be able to do that to it so it became Blackberry cottage and the village cafe. After a little staring I had the idea to turn the conservatory area into a little Italian Bistro just for Luigi so he can show off his traditional cooking skills and it has worked perfectly even though its a small space it was absolughtley just enough to get all my ideas in!

I made most of the stuff myself the bistro tables, the menu rack, the blackboard and display plates. I bought the corner unit as it was perfect for all the drinks and the desserts. I just think its a nice cosy place for a romantic meal and Luigi has everything ready and has been working hard so is just enjoying a beer whilst on the phone taking a booking its a popular spot in Quayside!!

Getting into the Christmas spirit!

I have been a bit miniature obsessed the last few days and seem to have got loads done always best to get on with it when you are feeling inspired! Decided to get the Italian Bistro done as I had a head full of ideas but more on that one tomorrow! Today I have been doing the Christmas Fayre scene as I have had a few bits and pieces from Ebay. Just waiting on a food delivery which will prob come tomorrow I have ordered quite a lot so decided to make another table today with an extra tier for all those yummy cakes! Spent about 3 hours making bunting for decoration although not sure it shows up that much lol also got to be careful of the snowman light as he gets really hot he had fallen off the other day and has melted a patch on the 'grass' so wont be leaving that switched on unattended! Have to say my best buy recently is the extension lead with and on off switch from Lidl at the weekend no more crawling under the table pulling transformers out one click at it all goes off sooooo much easier!!

Also got a little beaded curtain today from Ebay and I adore it! thought it would be fun on the vintage clothing shops door and it looks fab!

The village tree is up!!

Today the village Christmas tree went up although a few villagers were commenting it was a bit early the council decided to do it anyway! It does have lights but the picture didn't come out to well need to have a fiddle with the camera to see if I have a different setting for it! The villagers are starting to gather for the fete they have all been to the vintage clothing shop to buy themselves a nice warm winter coat (Bratz coats!) still looking for nice Christmas things for my stalls I have lots of cushions now just need more food and decorations. I think my Ebay watch list is a record even for me at a whopping 83 items if only I had the bank account to match!!

Christmas is coming to Quayside!!

Now Halloween is all done and dusted decided to turn my attention from witches and potions to Christmas and presents! Packed all the village green summer items safely away til next year and made a start on my Christmas scene. Of course there is Santa and Mrs Claus to hand out presents to the village children so I decorated his sleigh with some tinsel made him some nice cushions and lined the insisde with some red felt to make it a bit cosier. Mrs Claus has made sure theres a flask of cocoa and a cosy rug for when it gets a bit chilly!

I made the tables for the fete part as I wanted 3 the same size and it was easier to make them the right size than try and buy them! There will be a needlework stall with knitting and cushions a Christmas decorations stall and the all important food. Set up a couple today just to see if there was enough stock notice the super cute knitted things from my good friend Deb love the little jumper and woolly hat she sometimes sells on Ebay if you want to get some the same! The tables need decorated and I need to make some Christmas bunting and may even have a go at some fimo food but have also bought some to be on the safe side! Put up a couple of sets of lights just to see what would go where and if there was enough its def got me feeling all Christmassy!!!
