Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Quayside - my Cornish village

Me and Mum have been making the spare room into our very own take on a Cornish village. We turned some vinyl flooring and a bit of paint into a flagstone street so it matched the houses and used some of the vinyl tiles in the sample book we got and cut up some bits of stone effect card from the Del prado stuff I had to make the wall at the back to give the impression of an alleyway with the new street light we got today. Just ordered some postcards of my fav films obviously including the Wizard of Oz to go in the billboards! We also used a bit of the vinyl to make an alleyway between Lavender and Barnacle cottages which is where fihserman bobs hangs his smalls!! just need to get a small market stall to sell all the buckets and spades and it will have everything you need for a holiday by the sea!!

Also added a picture of Fisherman Bob and his dog Barney with his lovely new lobster pot and basket with net and buoy from Ebay which are fab!!

My new fisherman friend :-)

A few weeks ago I bought a lovely witch from a lady on Ebay and she was fabulous! She was so well made and for £11.99 she was brilliant value for a handmade doll. Today I was looking through her other dolls and came across this fisherman and he just made me smile, kinda looks like my Dad with the grey beard lol

Wasn't sure I was getting dolls for the seasidey houses although Bethany has been bugging me too she says they need to be lived in! Well I decided I just had to have him so he will live in Lavender cottage with his wife. I've seen the perfect woman for him just need to get her made 1st as its one of the dolls she has already sold so hopefully (fingers crossed) she can make another one the same as she is just right! he will sit on the bench out the front sorting out his fish ready for dinner! Oh and his name is BOB! her name will be Alice after my Nan :-)

The almost perfect sofa for Lavender cottage and not bad fridge for Seaview!

The new sofa and chair arrived for Lavender cottage this morning the lady at Bluebell minitures kindly swapped them for me when the other one didn't look right and when the parcel came today I was so excited it was much better and looked just right, til I noticed a big fat crease all across the back. Gutted! It will show up so much cos of the way it will be placed in the room so unfortuately although I was hoping not to I think it may have to go back! I know deep down it will drive me nuts everytime I look at it what a shame I will get the right sofa eventually!

On the upside the fridge finally dried so I put it in place this afternoon and it looks not bad really quite pleased with it! not bad for £3.99 and a bit of paint! almost worth all the grief it caused me ha ha I will be out and about next week with Mum and Dad so hopefully will find some stickers for the SMEG part to finish it off but it looks like its supposed to so thats a start! Also got a tiny bunny in the post today from Ebay I have bought a couple as I used to collect them when I was younger and thought they would go nicely in SeaView. Was a beautiful day today just right for a cool drink and a good book in the garden so translated that into my mini world!

Never painting a fridge again!

Saturday was a long day this weekend the caravan is rented out this week so we went up Saturday morning early to clean it all ready for our guests who seemed lovely. They arrived about 3pm so then it was off to Asda for the dreaded food shop always hell when your on a diet! Stopped in Buckie on the way home as it has a Sue Ryder shop which has a small selection of Dolls house things, I got a couple of bargains a mannequin which I will paint black a cute chicken basket, some tools and a fridge. Got the fridge as its a very similar style to Smeg so my plan was to paint it with pink enamel, get some silver letters and it will transform into the fridge of my dreams! easier said than done!! Its driving me mad! I painted it yesterday and thought the colour was too dark and then when I got near the bottom of the paint pot it was white so it must have been stuck to the bottom as I did stir it! so out came the turps and off it all came! painted it again today and I swear everytime I look at it I see another speck of dust or something stuck to it, enamel paint takes forever to dry was ok on the logburner as it was black but the pink shows up everything! hopefully it will look something like its supposed to when it finally dries!!!

Got a lovely mirror in the post today ordered off Ebay last week was not expensive and was worried it might look childish but I loved the colours and it matches perfectly in Lavenders lounge! I made a little hole in the corner of the room yesterday, going to put a standard lamp in for now but really its ready for my Xmas tree always wanted one with real lights!!!

Bathrooms, bits and bobs!

This week my bathroom suite arrived for Lavender cottage and pretty pleased with it. I'm just a bit anal sometimes and like to quality control things when I buy them so ordering off the internet although has its advantages has its downsides as I do sometimes wish I could buy them on sight so I could pick and choose. Not thats there anything really wrong with it just the toilet seats a bit wonky and it bugs me lol but it wasnt expensive so its not really an issue just me being fussy. It actually looks good in place and don't think I could have got any better so should prob stop moaning ha ha that room is pretty much done now just after a nice bath mat one on Ebay finishes tomorrow so will be bidding on that!

The downstairs of Sea View is now pretty much completed won't be adding to much more as I don't want it to get too cluttered and I like how it looks just now busy but not too much so will have to stop myself buying any more lovely things for it! Also think the yard is finished again don't want to overcrowd it!

Waiting for some more things through the post now although this week got a nice book case for Lavender cottage which I'm so pleased with its like it was made to measure the space it sits in its the most perfect fit! new sofas should be here soon swapping the other ones just didn't love them so hopefully the new ones will be just right, they were actually my 1st choice I should of stuck with them lol painted the log burner last night didn't like the grey finish it looks much better in black!
