Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Getting the holiday let ready!

Been doing a little to the holiday let today painted the upper floor and ceiling and the stairs also added the handrail and carpet just to jazz it up a bit, also made some little seasidey blinds. Got the kitchen units from Ebay they are not the best quality but they look just right for what I was after, not too modern and not too old fashioned so will just need to customise them a bit

Also put the coffee machine in place it looks fab and fits the space to within a millimetre lol was far too expensive really for what it is but glad I got it its a nice splash of colour and does look good!

Also changed the planters as they were just stuck into polystyrene so took that out and filled with a bit of plastercine and some shells which looks much better

Welcome to the Crab Pot Cafe and gift shop

Well after being a complete addict and staying up til 11.30 last night I have finished my new house! But don't gasp with horror as Barnacle cottage is now pretty much empty as I have used everything from it so that will be started all over again!

Decided this would be my cafe every village needs one and debated whether to make it a Bistro but decided my village was more sandwiches, cakes and pasties than Rick Stein so a good old cafe it is! Used the cakes counters from the icecream parlour that will now sell icecreams sweets and summer goods! made the upstairs into the cornish gift shop as thats something that would be quite common in Cornwall cafe downstairs and gift section upstairs.

Luigi is an expert cake maker his speciality is birthday cakes and wedding cakes he can make anything you want! he's taking a break just now and is outside on the phone trying to find out who the blonde lady is on the bench outside hes not seen her around before. Its a hot day so hes got a bottle of water in the absence of not having anything stronger in the shop will have to sort that one out Luigi is def not a bottle of spring water kind of guy!!

Barnacle cottage holiday apartment to let - book now!

Barnacle cottage gift shop has moved to new premises they moved out today and the refurbishment has already started! its now a holiday apartment decided somewhere to stay was the only thing missing from my village although would love a B & B theres no more building permits for new properties being issued at the moment so a holiday let will have to do! been playing around with it today to see how my £1 stairs would fit in and had a few bits of ply and a piece of wood effect lino so mocked it up to see how it would all fit. OH will take the lino and get me a bit of wood cut the exact size at work tomorrow so was handy to set it all out to see which layout would work best.

Am actually really pleased with how it looks the extra level looks great. The furniture is mostly just there for effect just odd bits I already had! Not sure if I'm loving the kitchen units and was going to try and squeeze a small shower room in under the stairs but I think it may be a bit too busy, might have a go later on though. Think I have decided on getting a modern denim or red check sofa as this apartment will be decorated in all red, white and blues good old british seaside colours! (I think lol although it may change to pastels!) the coffee table was made from a little bag of wood bits from the 10p box in the DH shop and that looks just right! needs a modern low bed which is easy enough to find and maybe a vanity sink so they can at least wash! lots of painting to do and wood staining but you can get an idea of how it will look

Changed the pictures in the icecream parlour!

Really  wasn't happy with the icecream pictures so last night made another cupcake one to match the other 2, much happier with it the pink ones were just too pink and didnt look right! used them to make an advertising board outside so they didnt go to waste! Hope you like the little stand the icecreams are in couldnt think how to make it but remembered I had some tiny baskets that weren't much use for anything so I cut the handles off and glued them to bit of ply and it works a treat!

Changed around the icecream parlour and got some new counters!

Done lots of work on the sweet shop/icecream parlour this week and its looking much fuller! decided to get a couple of new cabinets as felt it was better laid out this way and the L-shaped counter was perfect. Made the sweetie counter at the back which really fills the space and made a few pictures for the wall not sure I like the pink ones they are a bit too pink so may redo them. Have put a few seaside items in as I felt they looked ok and it is a seaside shop so they just have nets buckets and flipflops need to get some spades!

Fiddling around in Lavenders kitchen!

The wall cupboard came today I bought to go above the sink. I did orginally have a utensils rack there which was nice but felt it was taking up too much space. Its a small room and needed something else that would be more useful. Really pleased with it fits just right and is much better suited to the room!  also put the mirror that came yesterday in the lounge it looks nice behind the ship I thought. I also got the yellow flowers on the coffee table from the 10p box in the DH and with a 60p vase it doesn't look bad for 70p all in lol

Seaview bedroom items

Also did some enamel painting yesterday and thats dry this morning so have put it in place. I have been after a bedroom mirror for Seaview but can't find what I want at the mo so got this cheap brass mirror in the DH shop for £1.70 and the cherub was in the 10p box and its suitably girly til I find the right one. Also painted the little bunny which was also from the 10p box and the wall sconce which I was going to put next to the mirror but think it looks better standing alone.

Loving this sunny weather please let it last!!!!

Been taking advantage of the lovely sunny weather and been sat in the garden all afternoon with Bethany of course I couldn't be doing nothing so made a doggie bed for Molly the puppy, a cushion for the bathroom of Seaview and some cushions for the kitchen chairs in Lavender thought Bob might need something comfy after a hard days fishing. They are still a bit poofy but will soon squish down after they have had some ample bottoms on them!

Also painted a few bits with black enamel paint a mirror, a bunny and a wall sconce all for the bedroom in Seaview will post pics those tomorrow when they are all dry and where they should be!
