Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Trolleys and shelves!

Firstly just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the comments you make I know I don't always get round to replying to them directly but I do read and appreciate every one of them so thanks very much! :-)

Ernie the tramps trolley arrived today its great at least he has somewhere to keep all his belongings safe now and a nice warm quilt for nights spent on the village bench! its very slightly on the large side the handle sits a bit high which is a shame cos its so cute just have to sit Ernie a bit away from it then it doesn't show so much!

Also been playing around with the fireplace liked it so much I took it all apart!! decided to glue it a bit better and make it a bit sturdier also glued some of the loose logs at the back in place. Added a couple of hooks for the kettle(needs painting black!) and the all important cauldron. Found that shredded baby wipe makes good cobwebs! made some shelves and a couple of jars of witchy ingredients needs some stuff on the shelves but need to get them to stay up 1st the blue tack or tacky wax dont really like the drift wood so they may need glued but will wait to get a sink 1st so I know where they are def going!

A more successful Ebay day!

Haven't done much today just put in a few arrivals from Ebay. Had a bad day yesterday had a few items that weren't as good as I hoped so I was in an Ebay hump but today was much better I got some really lovely items some I can't tell you about just yet as they are for the new house which is being built as I speak!!!

So for todays goodies! I love the silk chaise was so chuffed to win that it fits perfectly in the bridal shop.

Also got some bits and bobs for the holiday let. Moved the round rug upstairs, I made the sink unit last week from a bowl and tap from the DH shop grand total £1.35 and really pleased how it turned out, also got a new light. Downstairs used one of the samples from my free blind sample book and got some red pans jars and tablewhere just need a nice shelf unit or something to display all the plates etc on! :D

Also made a couple of blinds for the window and door so they don't look so bare and its looking much more welcoming now! Its been great to have her helping me, we have had a right girly day listening to music and playing DH's.

Cream tea in the garden anyone???

Been making the tearooms garden today enjoyed doing the lolly stick fence for Lavenders garden area so did that again but painted this time just makes it look a bit more part of the village rather than just a random bit of grass lol really want to do the charity shop but waiting on some bookcases from Ebay that should be here by now so fingers crossed they come tomorrow!

The cafe is in tempory accommodation!

Moved the cafe into Barnacle cottage for now. I think it will be going in the cottage thats being planned but it works really well in this space so it may well end up staying.!

Luigi is on the phone to his suppliers as they delivered the wrong bread and he is not happy! Its been a busy morning so Maria is having a quick cup of tea while its quiet! Ernie the tramp is mooching through the bin and very pleased to have come across a whole loaf that Luigi threw out!

Edna is cleaning upstairs with her lovely new bucket and the plumbers have fitted the new sink in the bedroom which was actually a bowl and a tap but it does the job!

Lovely evening with Bethany merchandising the shop

Had a really lovely evening upstairs in my DH room with my daughter last night she she was sitting on the bed with her laptop and me getting the shop ready was nice to have company I'm normally hidden away up there alone. She has found a website that you can make you own book so we are making a childrens book about Quayside and its residents and she spent ages last night laying it all out etc. We are doing the story together and will change the pictures when its all pretty much in place, now I have to get the new house ;-)
Anyway waffling again heres the pics of the homewares shop I know you are probably sick of seeing this stock as its now in its 3rd property! hopefully it will be staying this time

New residents for the village :-)

Had to show you the new arrivals to the village as I love them so much!! such a fan of these dolls and when I saw the tramp I knew he would look great down one of the alleys with a shopping trolley full of his worldly goods! Then saw the lady who will be running my charity shop. I bought those 2 then spotted the white witch for my witchy cottage the following morning and luckily they hadnt been posted so she got added on. Couldn't really afford 3 but theres no postage on each additional doll so it does make them a bit cheaper thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it! the black witch I already had but thought they looked good together Winnie is the white one and Milred the black one named by Bethany :-)

Rose cottage bridal boutique

Well you will all be pleased to know I have not finished it yet lol been too nice of a day so done 3 loads of washing and mowed the lawn so now its time to play for a bit so thought I'd show you what I've done so far!!

I have done the upstairs bridal boutique with what I have for it at the mo! it still needs more dresses etc but for now its not looking too bad. The downstairs will be most of the stuff from the existing gift shop it will now be a homewares/china store so watch this space pictures later maybe!

Wasn't sure about the bridal shop at all but now its all in I quite like it, didn't have a rail for the dresses and they seem so expensive for what they are so had a bash at making one with a couple of coathangers and bamboo skewers its not the sturdiest ever rail lol but it does the job nicely it also needs a name so I can make a sign not had the inspiration for that yet!

Changed my mind about the coffee table and fixed the lights in Lavender!

Well another day another change around lol decided I didn't like the coffee table I didn't like the feet they were too bulky! took them off and used 2 little barrels I had and turned it into a dressing table for upstairs much happier its tons better up there!

Finally got the lights sorted out for Lavender! seems that black bulbs still work lol I thought I would have to replace them all but they are all fine! OH got a pack of 3 fuses from the hardware store for 69p about a quarter the price they are on Ebay! took a couple of pics of the new sofas in situ and the new shelving unit that came today as I thought it looked quite nice in there. Turned the sofa to face out its just too nice to only see the back of it!

Pic of cushions just for my friend Karen! :-)

Heres a pic of some cushions I got from Ebay! Usually make them myself but the fabric was just right for the denim sofa so bought them and at, I thought 2 but actually received 4, for 99p was cheap enough anyway! Had ordered them ages ago and had been wondering where they were and my friend Karen who is my most recent convert (ha ha) was asking after them yesterday and they arrived today so here you go Karen just for you!!

Almost ready to take bookings!

Been playing around a bit more with the holiday let today and its finally starting to look a bit more lived in! spent ages yesterday varnishing the mezzanine rail but just wasn't happy with the way it looked it was just too dark and didn't look right so 3 coats of paint later its now light cream to match the walls and stairs much better I think (hope you agree!) also made a couple more blinds and some bunting as it always brightens things up! also made the shell mirror in the bedroom area made the little table yesterday it will have a little sink and some bits and pieces on eventually.

Also made a little driftwood picture today not sure which house its going in yet lol also made the shell mirror which looks much better in the flesh the camera shows the wood behind but it doesnt show really. Made the little table yesterday from some flooring scraps lol
