Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Anyone needing a miniature haircut???

Well thats the hairdressers pretty much finished lol it was only a small room so didn't take too long and I really only had to buy a couple of things for it, the 2 chairs (thanks so much Heather :D), the sink, a flannel, the appointments book and the hairdryer and tongs everything else I already had or made so its been a very economical project too! Just needs a few more finishing touches, not 100% sure about the chair at the sink but it will do until I find the right one have found one that may be ok but its £20 so will keep looking for now! also needs some hair magazines on the table, a few more products and maybe some nice cupcakes on the counter instead of the fruit!!! But I'm so pleased how its turned out hope you like it too!! :D

Having fun making things for the hairdressers :-)

Been having so much today making things for the hairdressers I am loving this project think its the one I have had to buy the least things for so far lol. Made the mirror unit yesterday but decided it was a little bland so stuck all the individual crystals on it took ages but was worth it as it def brightened it up! also made the stylists trolley it really would look better all black but really didn't want to paint it until I can get another one as I really like it! So for now I made a couple of extra drawers for the the pins and rollers etc and painted them black to match it in a bit better added a pot of hair colour mixed ready for the next client made from the top of a drinks bottle, a splodge of black enamel paint and a coloured lolly stick and had a root around in the shed and found the perfect thing for the shampoo and conditioner pumps....cable clips!!!

Quayside Hairdressers

Well after thinking all weekend what to turn the top floor of the new Lavender cottage into I have decided to make it a hairdressers!

Been doing lots of research online although so now I have a few ideas and made a start last night. Found a fab lime green swivel chair on Ebay from the same lovely seller I got the black one from so the colour scheme has been planned around that and will be black, white and lime green!

Made a reception desk last night and have just started on the mirror wall unit and will paint that later. Ordered a lime green face cloth from Ebay that will be cut up into towels and the one thing I couldn't find was a trolley the cheapest and only one being a delph one at £30 then had a thought about the little butchers trolley on casters thats in Seaview and decided although its cute I will adapt that then I will have room for a nice little wicker unit where it was!

Also made a breakfast bar for the icecream parlour and painted a couple of chairs I had! yet more odd shaped bits of delprado ply coming into use think thats been one of my best Ebay buys ever it comes in so handy!!! not totally convinced about the chairs think I would rather have chrome bar stools maybe but for now they are ok!

Lavender cottage nursery shop all filled up!

I know it must seem like I work super fast lol but I have had all the stuff laid out in boxes ready to go into the cottage so when it arrived it was just a case of putting it all in! mind you it took me ages to merchandise the nursery shop just couldn't get it right think it was a case of too much stock so have left out the stuff I wasn't too bothered about and just put in the stuff I loved! It was going to go over the 2 floors including the attic but I didn't like it so have made that into a vintage clothing shop for now although I have other plans for that!! hope you enjoy looking at the pics as much as I enjoy looking at the houses my village is now complete :-)

The new arrival - and I couldn't be happier!!!

Today my Lavender cottage finally arrived and boy was it worth the wait its just fabulous!! For anyone who doesn't know its been made by http://juliesdollshouseblog.blogspot.com/ who is so talented she just has this wonderful knack of making exactly what I have in my mind or actually most times even better!! I just love the big windows they give a great view into the house. Weirdly though it was sent with the beach hut but that didn't arrive so hopefully it will come tomorrow! would have been much worse the other way round!!!

I cannot wait to get started putting all my things into it,  it has so much floor space its just brilliant!!

Heres a sneaky peak of it just arrived look out for more pics over the weekend!! :-) I wasn't the only one who was having fun when it arrived!!

Lovely new things!

Had a lovely day today with visits from 2 local DH chums and its great to chat about everything Dolls house with people who understand lol was really nice we chatted lots and had some lunch and hoping they come back again soon to our little mini club!

Had a great Ebay day today with some lovely items delivered!  I have been after a modern pram for weeks and weeks and just could not find anything that fitted in with what I was doing so spotted this pretty one on Ebay last week and I bid with baited breath on Sunday night was up against 7 other bidders and was determined to win it but also mindfiul I could go to silly money so was thrilled when I won it cost me £19 so was almost scared to open the box when it arrived today for fear of being disappointed but it is quite lovely and perfect for the job so very pleased! Also had a nice DHE sink for a bargain £1.99 a big bundle of Bratz stuff which was a steal for about £6 with the postage so now I have loads of bags, clothes and accesories to kit out my vintage clothing store. There was also a box of little bits which had so many useful things like perfume bottles make up carry cases and phones it really will come in so handy for loads of things!!! one of my fav bits is the fluffy pink phone it will look great on the shop counter very retro!!

I have also bought a few wicker things lately some I can't show you just yet ;-0 but some I have put into place and they look totally fabulous I think they are some of my most favourite pieces I have ever bought they really are wonderful. I just love wicker stuff!!!  The chair which is stunning so beautifuly made the cushion even has a different picture of a little birdhouse on the reverse it comes with matching drawers which are now in Fishermans rest and the white and pink drawer unit which i have put into Seaview Just needs a nice chair to go with it now as the white wire one just doesn't cut it anymore lol!!

New items in Wishes bridal shop

Been adding a few new items to the bridal shop recently and now its nice and full thought I would post some updated pictures. The 1st new thing was the chaise bought of Ebay which I was really pleased with and last week got a lovely litle matching stool from Ebay from a different seller which i have put in the dressing room! so pleased as they match perfectly what a lucky spot that was!

The dress was also from Ebay think my slight anul-ness kicked in a bit here as the 1st one I got was stitched lopsided and I knew everytime I looked at it, it would bug the crap out of me so returned it and they sent another which sadly was worse! really couldn't face sending it back again so spent a couple of hours last week when Scarlett was over redoing it. Redid the bodice as it was a bit uneven, the front of the hem was uneven so re-sewed that, moved the bow on the back over slightly so it was in the centre and redid the lace on the back of the train and finally added a bit of lace to the waistband to tidy the middle up. It was a lot of work and such a shame as the actual dress itself which is modelled on Kate Middletons was really quite lovely had it had just a little bit more attention to detail before sending it would have been perfect, but now at least I do enjoy looking at it so it was still worth the purchase maybe I was just unlucky.

Got the little shelves last weekend just needs a few more items on the top shelf and maybe one more pretty dress on the rail but its such a lovely girly shop I really do love it and to think I almost didn't bother doing it as I wasn't convinced now I'm so glad I did :-)
