Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Beside the seaside!

The weather has been glorious the past few days and put me in mind of lovely summer holidays so I decided to put that inspiration to good use and make my beach scene! Apologies for the pic fest! I got a bit carried away lol the sun was shining through the window and catching it just right so I was a bit snap happy!

I started off with a nice piece of mdf cut to size. There was a small strip left over so I used that for the wall on the left hand side. The other walls were just normal stripwood. I shaped it down on the corner so it was the same height.

Next I painted all the walls with white paint mixed with sand to give it a nice seaside feel. It turned out really well and was so easy it would make a great finish on a house too!

I would say once that's dry cover the base with pva and add your sand only I am too impatient and didn't wait lol. the sand is children's play sand as its much finer and a huge bag and I mean huge is about £3. Next the beach huts went in. I did glue them on but changed my mind as I wanted the sand to go underneath properly as I may get a tramp or a drunk to lay underneath!

Then the fun part putting all the details in! Of course first to claim her spot on the beach was Beryl!

I added a few little stones and bits of driftwood from the beach where our caravan is sited.

She still makes me smile every time I look at her!

She's all set for the day with her packed lunch!

Watch that seagull doesn't steal your sarnies Beryl!!

Jeffrey is making the most of quiet spell and reading his paper. His donkeys are enjoying the sunshine!

They get bored if no one rides for ages so they are wishing for some children to arrive soon!

The bucket doesn't match the castle lol but I won't tell if you don't!! ;-)

The Harbour hut is looking forward to increased sales now they are actually right on the beach!

Some of my favourite little things are on here. The sunglasses stand was a Barbie one from a charity shop which was just the right size. The little stand the sun lotions were on was also in the same bag so I used that to make a sun cream stand and made all the little bottles of lotion from beads and electrical clips!

You can see the finish of the wall here really chuffed with how that worked out and it dried quickly!

Yesterday was also my Birthday getting older and still playing with dollies! My good friend Deb sent me this gorgeous hand knitted bear and I just love it! She also sent me a slippers kit I have been wanting for ages which will be perfect for my Nan doll!

It was a beautiful day so Bethany took me to lunch at Delgatie castle which is just 5 minutes down the road.

The tea room is so cute and would be such an inspiration for a dolls house project if that was your era! Got told off for taking the photos lol oops just as well I already had a few!

We had a lovely day and I got lots of pennies to spend on Dolls house goodies what more could I ask!

This is my gorgeous Daughter outside the castle in the sunshine! xx
