Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

All change again! I needed to make space for new arrivals!!!!

I have been having a very stressful time in Dollyland of late lol! And I blame Julie of course! ;-) She listed a new house on Ebay and it was love at first sight!  I knew I just had to have it! Julie very kindly let me have instead of a little Barn I had just asked her to make me and it was a case of I will find a space! That was easier said than done I spent 3 days wondering how on earth I would fit it in without having to lose anything. I love all my houses now and the thought of having to part with one was really bothering me! Then laying in bed one night I got an idea...would it work? I had my fingers crossed! Well lucky for me it did work and worked so well it has made the village even better than before!!

I had the 3 little houses on my window sill and I really liked them together and to fit the new one in I would have had to move Sea Shanty onto there and lose one of the small ones. This was what stressed me out as I really wanted to keep them all!! My idea was to move Porthole from the table and see if the 3 small ones would fit there instead. They did fit side by side but would have meant losing part of the beach. Then I tried it with the green shop behind and the 2 smaller ones at the front. It worked brilliantly!!! I even had space for the little garden I made in-between so it couldn't have worked better!

Here are Cockleshell and Rose in their new position!

Honeysuckle is nestled in behind. I just had to swap the beach around a bit and put the harbour hut at the opposite end.

By moving Honeysuckle to the back created a lovely little village square area. Its much nicer to look at than the back of Porthole and all the light wires are really well hidden down the side so it looks just fab!

Porthole and Sea Shanty now sit together on the window sill which works great as they have the same finish so they match perfectly!

All that moving around made a perfect sized space for the new arrival!!!

This is Beach Cottage which should be arriving today!! I am very very excited! These are Julies pictures fro the Ebay listing as I couldn't wait to show you!

I love the little window in the door!

3 nice big rooms to fill. At the moment my plan is for a fun Rest home for all my WI ladies to live in lol

I have also moved the witches houses! I did have them in my bedroom and when I bought Pumpkin I had planned to put a shelf up above the big ones. After looking again the shelf would be too high up and  I decided I really didn't want 5 houses in my bedroom. I already have a whole room taken up with the village and I really didn't want to fill another one. I felt it would been just too much so I moved them out altogether! I have a nice little area on the landing which is a little cul-de-sac so to speak! I did have my Manor there so it made complete sense to move the witches here. There's also a book case ideal for the old witches shop and Pumpkin without having to put up shelves!.

I have to say they really work well in this space and its nice to regain my house free bedroom.

A nice little space just for Pumpkin!

The only casualty sadly was Cauldron cottage the new witchy café. It won't fit on the shelf as its too deep.

The wizard has moved to the old little shop so I could move the café into the attic at top of the witches shop. Its like a witchy dept store lol they can shop for hats and books and grab a bite to eat in the café!

Sadly as the attic has a sloping roof the sink unit I made wouldn't fit so that's now in the witches main house!

Bethany also made me some new signs I was missing in the village.

The new café one is a little small so we will make a longer one but its too long for one sheet of paper so its quite time consuming to do so that will be done another day, but this one is ok for now!

She did a great job of the Post office one!

As well as its new sign I also added a balcony to Honeysuckle as I had a nice piece of balustrade I hadn't used. It just needs some nice tall plants on it!

I also added a streetlight.. It was actually a triple one but was really top heavy and kept falling over and eventually broke so I unscrewed the top section threaded a rice bulb through and then glued one of its light shades back on and it looks fine! Glad its not been wasted!

Now to wait patiently for the postman to arrive with Pumpkin and Beach as I know exactly where to put them!!!!

  2. I'm convinced you've bendy walls in that house of yours. Every time I pop on here, there's another property! I think the Rest Home is a lovely idea and will be very much appreciated by your WI ladies. There can't be many types of Julie's properties now that you don't have!
