Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Feeling inspired!!

Nothing new to report in Quayside YET! I spent all last night rearranging the village as I felt it wasn't quite right! I had 2 empty shops and the bag shop wasn't working so I scrapped that idea too! I just haven't been inspired since I moved it all! But yesterday the ideas started flowing and I couldn't stop them lol I adore Debs mini knitted things and love the little balls of wall you can get so I have decided to make the purple one into a wool shop. It will be called KNITTING PRETTY. Edna is busy giving it the once over before the new owners move in!

The pink one will become a flower shop as I seem to have loads of them! The blue one I am tossing up between a fish shop and a gallery so still thinking on that one. The blue front is now empty so I have decided to make that into a party /fancy dress shop. It only needs a window display and I can still do seasonal ones. The idea came from a lovely clown doll I bought yesterday that I just fell in love with!

I moved all the houses around which in itself isn't that hard but redoing all the lights is a nightmare! I have a lovely space on the harbour for a new house now!! I moved Barnacle as I felt it looked much better over that side!

So I have lots to do and loads of projects to be getting on with its great when you feel like that!!!

Selling off a few houses!!

I have managed to make space to squeeze just one more house into Quayside and Julie has already come up with an amazing idea for it! Sadly I don't have the funds at the mo to buy it so I have decided to sell a few of my other houses / projects to hopefully raise enough for the new house!!

I have put them on Ebay and would be really grateful if you would take a look and would love you forever if you decided to bid ha ha!!!

The fund started off today with its first £5.00 from my friend Kelly so fingers crossed I can reach my target and Quayside will have something new and very interesting! :-)

First up for sale is the Franklin Mint house!

A very productive bootsale!!

It was a nice day today so we decided to venture out to the huge bootsale in Inverurie. Its about a 45 min drive from our house so we decided not to go early like we usually do, around 7.30am as no one wanted to get out of bed and if they do they all end up tired and grumpy lol! We got there around 10.30am and it was super busy! Was def worth going though as I got some great little bargains!

I got the hugest bundle of Bratz clothes which I use when making my dolls. Lots of things I can have some fun with a few nice little accessories too. I love the little bags! I have quite a few in the handbag shop but this will give me a few more.

I sorted it all out much to Bethanys amusement her 43 year old Mother playing with dolls clothes!

There were loads of trousers.......

Tops.............

Jackets and coats..........

Dresses and skirts............

Bags.........

There were even a few nice little accessories that will come in handy like the little bucket and the lifebouy. Theres even a tiny bikini!

I got 13 bunches of flowers in all different colours for £1.50 for the lot.

I also got this little dresser for 50p which I though I could do something with.

And I also got a soldering iron kit for £5 which should come in handy!

The glass cupcake board was also 50p and will be useful for making things on.

Lastly a couple of flower fairy pictures which were 50p for both!!

Bethany also got lots of nice New look clothes with tags still on and a couple of Me to You bears which saves a small fortune on the full price so she was very happy! Was def worth getting out of bed and making the effort it was a very productive day!!

A date for Harry - meet Katy!

I really quite enjoy making the dolls from Fimo so as I had a bit left I though I would make a lady so that the new fisherman Harry had someone to take out on a nice date!

Shes turned out a bit better than my last effort at a lady who even now Bethany insists on calling Gaga and singing hello hello baby everytime she sees her! Her arms are a little on the long side and I need to make the hands a bit smaller but considering she only the 4th doll I've ever made I don't think shes too bad! Her hair is better this time and I think the eyes are getting a little better too lots of practice needed still but getting there!

Shes called Katy as as soon as I dressed her she totally reminded me of a lovely friend I met when I worked at Waterstones. Now she is immortalised in the village, I hope she doesn't mind lol!

Harry's taken quite a shine to her already, although shes not quite nervous here at the first meeting!

She soon warms to his friendly Cornish banter!

They are getting on like a house on fire now!

They started out the evening with a nice romantic meal at Luigis Bistro.......

Then it was off to the Fishermans Rest for a few drinks.......

They were finally spotted booking into the B & B! Maddie is very dicreet and didn't ask any questions, but naughty Harry you will be topic of lots of gossip tomorrow!!

I made another doll!...Meet Harry my new fisherman!

Decided to have another go at making a doll last night! So this is Harry my new fisherman!!! Here is how he started out! Just some fimo a cork and some pipecleaners! I really need to get some proper wire but the furry pipe cleaners work quite well and they provide some padding. I just double them up so they are stronger. Need to get my other half on the wine more often as the cork is a great body lol its just the right size!  he took me about 3 hours last night and at one point I got stroppy and scrunched all the clay up and had to start again! But I'm pleased at how he turned out.

And here he is all painted and bearded with his clothes on!! Have to say a huge thanks to Deb who knits the jumpers and hats as they are just fab!!!!

I'm still not so good at the eyes yet, I def need more practice but he looks friendly and human so thats a start lol!!

Bobs dog Barney seems to like him so thats a good sign!

This is a little dark but I love the table showing in the background in Lavender Cottage.

All he needs now is a fishing rod with a nice big fish on it so that will be todays project!!!

A bit of bunting!

I love bunting so much and have some in nearly all of my houses and today I decided to make some in full size to add to the Upper Quayside shelf. I used some nice pin k ribbon and all my mini print fabrics but didn't make it too small or you wouldn't be able to see it!
