WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

A sunny spot for Cockleshell!

Cockleshell Cottage only arrived yesterday but I couldn't resist making a little garden for it today. I cut bit of wood to size and the covered it with lolly sticks. I had to edge them down the right had side as the curved ends showed. I then painted round the edge in grey to match the path of the house. Next I painted the lolly sticks with white emulsion and then wiped it straight off as I wanted a sun faded look to it.

Next job was the fence! I couldn't decide whether to do a fence or a little wall and decided on the fence! I was just going to use the the large lolly sticks but they didn't look right, so I had a hunt in my drawers and found a packet of smaller ones which were much better. It took me twice as of of course lol but they look just right so it was worth the extra effort! I again painted and wiped off so they didn't look too painted!

Next was the fun part dressing it! I stole a table and chairs from the Bistros pergola (I bought another one from Ebay today tp replace it!) Then I was looking for a nice planter and remembered a gorgeous one I got from the DH shop ages ago. It was in Seaviews little yard but it was hidden away in the corner. I thought it would be much nicer to have where I could show it off a bit more. Its just perfect I love the bamboo its just what I had in mind for the space! I also found a few more little bits, everything except the little glass that went with the wine bottle...no idea where that went!!

I'm so pleased with it and really glad I persevered with the fence as it looks lovely with the sun shining through. It sits at the side of the house but the sum was beaming through the window so I took a few pictures of it sitting at the front.

I am sure after a hard day of looking at naked ladies Edwardo will happily sit and relax with a glass (when I find it!) of wine and enjoy the evening sunshine!

  4. The little garden is a great addition and I think it's great how you can take various bits and pieces from other properties and create what you want. It must be like having your own private shop!
