WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Seriously cute Cockleshell Cottage and lots of sweeties!

I have been waiting patiently for the postie all day as I knew he was bringing my new house today! I could hardly concentrate on anything else, I really am addicted lol It arrived this afternoon safe and sound and is now in its new home!

The finish is amazingly well done, the boarding and the stone work really does make it look a bit special. I am glad its set on its own rather than mixed in with the other cottages as it really shows it off nicely. I have already cut a bit of wood to make a little side garden. I do enjoy adding the outside details and I think this cottage lends itself perfectly to a little seaside garden!

It really is the cutest little house ever!! Its quite small compared to some of my other big houses but that made it perfect for me and the size just adds to the cuteness factor!! Its now on the windowsill where the witches used to be but as its much smaller the window is not blocked off and I still get lots of light!

Its a gorgeous little cottage and I love the name, Cockleshell cottage. I really must get on to Julie Lawton to make me some signs I am missing a few now!

For now have decided to make it the artists studio and gallery as its nice and bright inside. I have moved Edwardo and Holly in upstairs and added a sink which needs to be nicely messed up with paint splashes etc. Downstairs will be a gallery with paintings and glassware.

Yesterday I had kept the day free for dollies as I did all my chores on Monday so I couldn't feel guilty! I wanted to get the sweet shop counters painted and knew it would take a while!  As there were a lots of separate counters I had in mind doing each one in a different colour and think the overall effect is nice rather than all the same.

I had most of the colours except the pink and yellow I had to mix up. I have put in some of the sweets I already had inside them but lots more needed to fill them up! I really need to master the art of Fimo fudge! The Chupa Chup stand was one of my very fist minis. I bought ages ago before the village even existed lol! Bert is very happy he likes a bit of colour!

I also painted the large wall unit in a mix of all the different colours which has turned out really well albeit very time consuming!

I had lots of sweets already but only enough to fill the top and bottom shelves so much more was needed. Individually these are expensive to buy and are usually the bigger size which wont fit on the shelf. I bought 50 small jars on Ebay from China and a pack of 40 fimo canes. I chopped the the little canes into chunks and filled up the little jars. They have turned out even better than I hoped and I love all the bright colours. I made about 25 jars and prob used about a quarter of the cane and half the jars so its a great way to fill shelves inexpensively! The bunting came off the old sweet stand I made and just finishes it off. Not sure whether to add some white lace to the shelves or leave the bare. I think if I find the right lace or ribbon I may do that later on.

Really pleased with it all so far I love the colours its such a pretty shop and I do love a bit of pretty lol!!

I couldn't resist taking this photo from my Dollyland window. I was taking pics of the new house and the cute ponies in the field opposite were right there. They are so sweet its lovely to sit watching them when I am working!

  2. I love your new house - and I love the little table and chairs you have put in the garden - what a wonderful position for it all - such a great wide windowsill.
