Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!
WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE
Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!
I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

More beautiful quilts and having a break!
Anyway enough of that I received the most gorgeous quilts in the post today from my dear friend Deb. I asked her to make me a couple in darker shades for the maids bed in the new basement. They really are lovely the little squares are so tiny and the colours are just wonderful together. Thanks so much Deb they def brightened my day! :-) I am trying so hard to think of where I can fit more quilts in lol I am running out of places to put them!!
Situations of this sort can be so painful. I agree with you that staying away for a while is better. You know, giving yourself time to heal. The quilts are fantastic! So colourful! I have just finished making a quilt and I can appreciate all the work that has gone into those two. About my quilt, however, I forget to include a piece of foil to make it more pliable. So I took it apart a bit to fit the foil in. Unfortunately some of the glue left marks on the right side. Live and learn! I'll never use that glue again. I don't know if its because I used too much or what. It was Aleene's Fabric Fusion. Next time, I'm trying Aleene's Tacky Glue.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet comment a break is as good as a rest so they say :-) good for you making your own quilt I don't have the patience my friend Deb is an expert! Even if I could make it they would never be as beautiful as hers!
DeleteOh honey!!
ReplyDeleteIm so sorry you've had a tough time. Its true, the written word can so often be misunderstood, but you can definitely get the "tone" of some people. Loud and clear!!
You are very wise in taking a step back from it all. Enjoy Easter with family, and Blogland and go back to it once things have settled.
You're doing the right thing.
Big hugs
Xx
Thank you for the lovely comment I don't like drama lol its always best avoided as it never generally ends well! You are so right its a very careful line to tread when you are doing it in text but oh yes the 'tone' of some folk comes across like a sledgehammer ha ha! As my daughter said who knew Dollies could cause so much drama!! :-) xxx
DeleteIt is not the first time I hear people talk about misunderstandings and fights on forums. And I think it is wise to take a step back. Hope you can leave the hurt behind you and enjoy the hobby.
ReplyDeleteMiniature greetings
Such beautiful quilts from Deb. I just love the green and red/pink one. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think stepping back is a much better idea than leaving, but that's just me being selfish. I'd miss your happy posts. :-)
Hello Paula,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your dealings with the forum (I know how you feel) and I'm glad you decided to stay and not leave. As far as I'm concerned, you have always been a very highly valued contributor to the forum and one of the many that made it pleasure to visit :)
Hi Paula,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say I'm glad you decided to stay on at the DHE forum, taking a break is a good idea.....( I know how you feel). I'd also like to say, I think you are a valuable contributor to the forum and one who made it a worthwhile place to visit, however, I'll be following your progress here instead :).....
I was pleased to hear you're not leaving either. Enjoy the time with your family and see how you feel then.
ReplyDeleteThe quilts are lovely (I might have to get Deb's contact details!) She does them so beautifully.
