WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

More beautiful quilts and having a break!

Yesterday was a very strange day lol I have been a member of the DHE forum for many years as I know things are always changing thats the nature of life but the niceness of the members was always consistent. Everyone always had something nice to say about everyone. Just lately it all seems very angry with people just itching for a fight! I did my best not to get involved lol but yesterday made one little comment that got thrown out of all proportion and resulted in a few less than pleasant exchanges!! I had decided to leave as life is too short for things that make you feel bad but after a few deep breaths and a nights sleep I decided I will just step away for a while! I am certainly not flouncing off as has been suggested lol but purely taking a break from a situation I believe is prob only going to get worse before it gets better and I don't really want to be a part of that after yesterday! These things generally have a way or sorting themselves out but I don't want to be drawn into arguments as I know I will only end up saying something I might regret lol!! So just for a while I will continue with my blog as I really do love doing it and it can't answer back ha ha!! Easter is just around the corner and I have my family visiting so its a good time to take a break :-) On the upside of it all I had some lovely messages of support which far outweighed the not so nice so I am thankful for those. Its nice to be applauded for what you do and I have spent many hours on the forum giving advice and showing my projects so its nice to know its appreciated :-)

Anyway enough of that I received the most gorgeous quilts in the post today from my dear friend Deb. I asked her to make me a couple in darker shades for the maids bed in the new basement. They really are lovely the little squares are so tiny and the colours are just wonderful together. Thanks so much Deb they def brightened my day! :-) I am trying so hard to think of where I can fit more quilts in lol I am running out of places to put them!!

  1. Situations of this sort can be so painful. I agree with you that staying away for a while is better. You know, giving yourself time to heal. The quilts are fantastic! So colourful! I have just finished making a quilt and I can appreciate all the work that has gone into those two. About my quilt, however, I forget to include a piece of foil to make it more pliable. So I took it apart a bit to fit the foil in. Unfortunately some of the glue left marks on the right side. Live and learn! I'll never use that glue again. I don't know if its because I used too much or what. It was Aleene's Fabric Fusion. Next time, I'm trying Aleene's Tacky Glue.

  2. Oh honey!!
Im so sorry you've had a tough time. Its true, the written word can so often be misunderstood, but you can definitely get the "tone" of some people. Loud and clear!!
You are very wise in taking a step back from it all. Enjoy Easter with family, and Blogland and go back to it once things have settled.
    You're doing the right thing.
    Big hugs
    Xx

    1. Thank you for the lovely comment I don't like drama lol its always best avoided as it never generally ends well! You are so right its a very careful line to tread when you are doing it in text but oh yes the 'tone' of some folk comes across like a sledgehammer ha ha! As my daughter said who knew Dollies could cause so much drama!! :-) xxx

  3. It is not the first time I hear people talk about misunderstandings and fights on forums. And I think it is wise to take a step back. Hope you can leave the hurt behind you and enjoy the hobby.
    Miniature greetings

  4. Such beautiful quilts from Deb. I just love the green and red/pink one. :-)
I think stepping back is a much better idea than leaving, but that's just me being selfish. I'd miss your happy posts. :-)

  7. I was pleased to hear you're not leaving either. Enjoy the time with your family and see how you feel then.

The quilts are lovely (I might have to get Deb's contact details!) She does them so beautifully.
