Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Making lovely things for my little shabby chic shop

I don't actually have my little shop just yet as its being sent together with the 2nd one shortly but that hasn't stopped me getting loads of ideas and planing the things I will be filling it with! I wanted a nice area for displaying lots of lovely little things but as its only 6 inches deep I couldn't put any big dressers or anything too overpowering in. I remembered a shelf unit I had swapped with Scarlett the other week, I just thought it looked quite interesting and had potential to be something nice! There was also a big gold mirror again from Scarlett, I thought it had a nice French look to it. Then next was a really grotty Grandfather clock (who doesn't have one of these lol!!!) that was very nearly in the bin on Sunday. I thought I will never use that its just rubbish and my hand actually hovered over the bin and I suddenly had a thought, just maybe I could do something with it for the shop so it had a a reprieve!

Here they are in their former state as darkwood stained pieces.........

Next job a couple of coats of white paint.........

The finished items in all  their new shabby chic glory!!

The clock was painted and distressed, a new clock face printed from Google images and some decals from my stash. I hope you agree it looks so much better and will sit nicely in the back corner of the shop.

The unit was again painted, distressed, then I added some pretty rose print paper to the shelves. Finished it with lots of little items although I have some new ones on the way so this is not how it will look when I have filled it up!

I love the little cushions from Etsy displayed in the little draw it shows them off perfectly.

The mirror and pictures will help fill the walls of the shop plus another little clock made from a metal button.
