Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Beachside blooms corner shop!

Well I have to confess I have been on a bit of a mission the past few days lol! Once I get started on something I don't rest until its finished, plus I needed my kitchen table back!!

I put the little shop all back together which was simple...you would think!!  For a start it would not sit straight on the base so ended up having to recut the corner so it didn't look odd. Then I had nightmares with the door! Was annoyed at myself for not putting it in before I glued it all back together spent ages trying to get it in only to realise all I had to do was put the pin through the top arh!!!

Anyway finally it was back on one piece! I added lino flooring from an odd tile I had which was just the right colour! Here it is back together but just bare before I filled it up and added the signs!

Next up came the signage! Luckily Bethany was home from college yesterday because of the snow so I managed to persuade her to do them for me! I had intended it to be a corner grocery shop but as she said it just didn't look like that! She suggested it looked like a flower shop which sparked an idea!! I had been trying to do a flower shop for a while but they just never seemed to work but maybe because of the size and shape somehow it works perfectly in here....well done Bethany!!

The windows lend themselves nicely to a flower shop and we kept the original name from the old flower shop front.

Here it is all finished up on the shelf....its a perfect fit!

Eve is buy working away on a bouquet for delivery......I wonder who thats for????

I recovered the table and chair in a nice blue striped fabric and the small table in the corner has the green stuff on it (whatever thats called!) with all the foliage, next to all the flowers. Thanks to Carol for sending me the green stuff and some flowers I finally got round to using them!

I reused the shelving I originally had in the sweet shop. I almost sold it a while ago and never got round to it thank goodness! The good thing about having a china shop in the village is I could go free shopping and was able to fill the shelves with a nice array of vases and pots. I have already refilled the china shop with odds and ends so you would never know!

Just a few more details to add! It needs an order book, some blinds, a selection of ribbons and some pictures on the wall so will be trailing Google images today to see what I can find!

This has cost me nothing apart from the cost of the shop which was £20 everything else I already had so it was a brilliant project to do on a budget!

Here it is in its new home in Upper Quayside.

My next dilemma is what to do with the new shop?? I think I might it make it into the antiques shop and make the blue one a butchers.....not 100% sure yet more thinking and staring needed!

This was our garden this morning with a fair bit of snow. Nothing too serious though and hardly anything compared to what we had a few years ago!

I d have a few draws full though of all those little things that always come in handy for something.
