WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE



Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! Clocks, mannequins, pictures and clothes!

Todays efforts are small but time consuming none the less!! I decided to have a go at decoupage on a plain pine mannequin I got from  the DH shop last week. I first gave it a couple of coats of white paint then added the paper which I got for 45p from the haberdashery shop. It wasn't quite the right colour its a tad on the bright side and there were lots of turquoise flowers in the pattern so it was a little fiddly cutting out all the bits I didn't want. The end result is not bad for a first attempt and its at the back so the slightly bright colour is a little less obvious.


Next I painted one of the mini photo frames from Poundland. I distressed it a little then added a pretty rose picture from Google images (not sure what I would do without them!!)


I then decided to add a little clock again from Google images and stuck it onto a metal button that just happened to be the perfect size!


Lastly I paid a visit to Babs Boutique and purchased a few items to fill the rail. I covered all the hangers in the same paper as the shelves and dressing table as I just think it looks prettier than the bare wood.


Heres a pic of them all in situ. I do think the little details are the things that bring a room to life :-)

    Another very pretty little set of things, what patience you have! It is definitely worth it though, those hangers are really pretty now and much better than the plain ones. Love the mannequin, very stylish and very unique! All your bits and pieces, would never have thought of making a clock out of a button either!

    I definitely agree that it's all in the details...and your details are so cute!

    Haven't seen the poundland frames, I'll have to go snoop around the one in town and see what I can rustle up :D
