Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Bamboo Cottage chinese carry out!

I have been busy for a couple of days making my Chinese takeaway. Here is the finished result my Bamboo Cottage :-) Of course it wouldn't look anything like as good on the outside without its sign age so Bethany can take full credit for that even though she hates doing them lol!!!

As you know I bought a lovely oriental lady doll and I planned  to make a chinese takeway for her! I was going to make a false hatch at the back as every Chinese takeaway has one. In the end I thought it would be much more fun to have a proper one with a chef behind!

Bernadette had an oriental man and she very kindly made him a chefs hat and apron. He has such an angry face and just makes me laugh!

I had hoped to get a counter in the dolls house shop on Thursday but there wasn't one that was quite right so I had to make one. I printed off the large menu for the counter and then printed some smaller versions and made a rack for them so customers can help themselves.

I made the carry out bag by using a bought brown bag and cutting some off the top to make the handles.

I added the false wall with the hatch and printed of a clock and a canvas art.

My chef is not happy and I would stay well clear of him that cleaver looks dangerous!

I found a piece of sushi mat I had left over from the hairdressers and it was the perfect size for the window!

I couldn't decide on the style of chairs and the space is quite limited so I made a bench seat instead. The cushions were a lucky buy in the DH shop and was a £1 for a quilt and 2 cushions and I just made the quilt  smaller to fit the bench. The colours were just perfect!

The mirror was also from the DH shop and was a Glenowen one that was reduced to £5. I just thought it had a chinese look to is and it adds a nice bit of detail.

The view through the window! Really pleased how its turned out it was such fun to do and as I made most of it it was a really cheap project. The only real cost was the dolls and the mirror everything else I already had or was pennies!

Of course you now the rule its not worth just buying one doll! So I asked Bernadette to make me a sleeping drunken pirate.

Isn't he just fabulous! His face is so detailed and his outfit is wonderful. I really must not buy anyone more for a while but they really are my weakness I am still well and truly addicted to dollies!

  4. Your wee takeaway will fit into the Village very well and I like your grumpy chef! You've got all the right details and the fabric on the seating is perfect - what an excellent find that was. Well done Bethany on coming up trumps again with her signs!

  5. Love your new chinese takeaway, wouldn't fancy asking the chef if he could do a gluten free meal for me though, Lol. Always amazes me how you manage to find the perfect accessories so quickly too.

  6. Congratulations on putting together this Chinese takeout store so quickly. I know people from the UK say takeaway, but in Canada, we say takeout. Like we will say, "Let's have takeout for supper". I remember when I was reading all of Catherine Cookson's wonderful novels, I started speaking like I was from the UK. Not the accent, just some of the vocabulary. I was so into her novels that I had adopted the UK way of saying things without noticing it. Your chef is marvellous and I love the naughty expression on his face. Everything is just so lovely. You are very talented.
