Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!
WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE
Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!
I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

Ghosts in the attic and new Ebay finds!
I also have a few flower fairy items in my SeaView Cottage and really love them although they don't come up all that often. I saw this little rack of dishes and just had to have it. When it came it had a price on the box which was a lot more than I paid so that made me feel like I got a nice bargain.
I also bought a lovely handmade workbench for Santa and it does fit very nicely into the space.
I added a lovely tree to Mrs Claus's shop which makes it feel a bit fuller. I have just ordered some lovely little handmade Christmas teapots so look forward to putting them in they will look wonderful I am sure!
I found an extra set of fairy lights so I put them outside the chippie which has really brightened the village square up.
I have also been busy on Winnies garden. I made a couple of garden walls and added the grass. The walls took forever to dry I am so impatient! And I really need another pack of grass so no pics of that just yet!!! :-) Its been a beautiful day here so we took the dogs for a good long run on the beach and after had a quick peek in the Spotty bag shop. It sells everything you can imagine and I picked up some printable canvas sheets for £1 and they will be so much fun. I will use them to make some rugs and cushions so they were a great find!

Hen house and hat stands!
I was looking at little wooden hen houses on Ebay for Winnies chickens but they were quite dear so decided I would have a go at making one myself! I used a couple of bits of wood, lots of lolly sticks, some net from a washing tablet bag (stained a bit with tea) and a coat of oak varnish. I finished it off with a bit of 'grass' carpet dirtied up a bit on the roof and added some straw. I think they look very happy in their new home!!
I have bought a few of KATS fab witches hats for my shop lately and really needed a couple of extra hat stands. They are so expensive on Ebay almost £4 with postage and I seriously begrudged paying that when I know they are only 50p in the DH shop but I can't get there for a another couple of weeks and am too impatient lol! Remembered I had some dark blue glittery fimo and thought I could make some witchy style hat stands and I am so pleased how they turned out and thats a few pounds to spend on something else now!!!

Chippie eating area and my beautiful new doll
The new street lamp was another bargain from Ebay and has 3 bulbs so that helped to brighten it up too. I thought it looked a little more modern day than the old fashioned one I had there before, thats now outside the Christmas house!
A few bits of reindeer moss, some flowers and some little shells just finish it off.
I think its def made the area look a little more interesting!
I still love Ernie the tramp on his favourite bench! He got lucky today with some left over chinese!!
My lovely new doll from Ebay arrived today and shes fab!! I love her. Shes already settled into her new home and looks perfect in there with her little dog Beans (don't ask!!). I will make her a pink pinny as the red one didn't really match but it won't go to waste as it will match my cafe! I did ask the lady who sold her what her name was and it was Muriel but I wasn't sure if that was right for my house (she was from a 40's themed house) So I decided to keep with the M and her name is Madeline, Maddie for short! Sorry lots of pics of her I got excited and kept taking them ha ha! I am so pleased with her and so happy I waited for the perfect doll to come along!

A little Christmas in Spring!!
Bethany added her magic touch!!
Julie Lawton of course made the wonderful sign!!
Oops someone didn't read the sign and now Rudolph is making a bid for freedom! Just as well I added the bells to his reins so someone is sure to hear him!
Welcome to the Claus Emporium! Mrs Claus runs the shop downstairs selling lots of gifts and lovely home made festive food.
It needs lots more stock added but luckily I had quite a lot from the Christmas fair scene I did last year.
Mr Claus works upstairs in his workshop although today hes not alone he has a little friend to visit, Melody.
He is taking a break for the hard work to enjoy a nice Christmas dinner, he never gets bored of Turkey!!
Diane a lady I have met locally visited today to pick up my O'Rourkes which she had decided to buy. I was quite sad to see it go but I know she will love it and do it more justice than I did so I am really happy it was her that bought it as I follow her blog so can see it anytime I want! It was nice chatting Dolls houses with her and her daughter!
I think I am needing some kind of help as earlier I was waiting to bid on a doll on Ebay and I actually felt sick lol I had been watching her for days and really wanted her to go in Seashell Cottage. I have been looking for a very special resident! I put my bid in with 5 seconds to go and honestly didn't think I had a chance in hell of winning her as she was made by Bella Belle dolls and I know how desired they are and although beautiful they are very expensive. I drooled over Julies stand at the DH fair in Edinburgh last week and never thought I would get chance to own one. Well I WON! I am so thrilled I think I screamed lol I can't wait for her to arrive and settle in her new home!

Chippie mark 3! Suncream and a cot!
My 3rd attempt was more successful. I made it a little smaller and added the lace trim to make it a little more finished looking. I then stuck it below the sign which seemed to work better. Bethany then did another sign to go at the top to fill the space. The overall effect is so much better now I am happy with it!
I made some bottles for the window sill and a little box to put them in. Will get some fencing done tomorrow to finish it off.
I also made some little suncream bottle for a little stand I had got with some Barbie stuff. It was the one thing the Harbour hut was missing and I think they look just the part!
I received this lovely little cot today from the lady who bought my beach hut. Bethany had made her sign and to say thanks she sent me this. I'm so pleased with it, it looks lovely in the shop so thanks very much Carol :-)
